No new changes to report, unfortunately. I am still effaced and his head is still pretty low and "down there" but no dilation. His heartbeat was 156 by Dr T and 160 by Jake this week. I didn't admit at the Doctor's but he might have had a little Coca Cola classic that day at lunch......not much, but some, so that could be why he was excited. At next week's appointment we will be scheduling for an induction the week of February 9th, IF he has not arrived yet. He is more than welcome to come naturally and on his own of course until the induction. My doctor will not let him stay in the womb past February 12th. So....2 weeks from today he should be here!! If he stays in til the 11th or 12th, I am fine with that as he obviously isn't ready to come out yet....but I am guessing that he will be like his dad and will come before the induction because he doesn't like being told what to do and when to do it! :) (sorry Jakey...kinda joking, but kinda not)
Caden turned 1 yesterday. The last year has just flown by!
My friend April's son turns 2 today-Jack. We have his Birthday party this Saturday!
I thought for sure I would be spending the 3rd year in a row at St Vincent's at the end of January. First with Jack and April 2 years ago and then with Caden and Ashley last year!
Sunday of course is the big Super Bowl. Unfortunately the 2 teams playing do nothing to excite me, but we will watch and go to Jimmy's Super Bowl Party anyway! I will be avoiding chips, pretzels, pizza and salty items. I will be the one eating apples, carrots and celery. Who am I kidding, I will eat something salty without a doubt, too tempting.
Everyone have a safe and happy Super Bowl weekend! I will of course check back in next week!

Cankles!
I would post a nice picture of my Cankles, but noone really wants to see that I no longer have any definition of an ankle and calf. I am used to some puffiness at night time after a day at work, but when I woke up Saturday morning I discovered I no longer had ankles. I don't have pain or anything but they are not a pretty sight. I hope my work doesn't mind me wearing slippers during the day.......
Here are some pics though from our weekend!
39 Week appointment is on Tuesday
Sunday at CW 1-st Bday
Jake and I were excited that Caden loved his new Birthday chair! He is still pretty flexible and can get his feet to his mouth.
The theme for his 1st Bday was Tow-Mater from the movie-Cars. Once again, some yummy cake!
Caden thought the cake was great! He ate it all with his left hand even though he does most everything else right-handed.
Little Buster (Will) turned 20 on Saturday and I spent the day in Lafayette doing some catch up work for my dad's office and eating pizza and breadsticks for Will's b-day (just what my cankles needed.....salt)Friday night my good friend Jessica was back on her home court for the weekend. Drew and Marley are local Indianapolis friends and Cooper was here visiting with his parents. Cooper told me that although he loves Texas, he would love to live in Indianapolis one day!

Belly Pics

38 weeks....what a difference 10 weeks make, huh?
Tank has been moving around a lot today, or shall I say trying to move around. There is not a lot of room for him to move at this point.
My friends Abby and Ali's sister in law and brother gave birth to a 9 pound 5 ounce baby boy today. Yikes! I hope Tank is under 9 pounds.
Well we have an action packed weekend ahead of us, so I will post after Sunday with some more pics. My house needs cleaned in a major way so looks like Sunday afternoon I will be doing some cleaning, we will see if that helps Tank feel like making an entrance!

38 Weeks
Well......nothing new to share unfortunately. Still effaced, no dilation, but his head is low (around a station -1) so we are "close." So stay tuned for another week......
I have had a great pregnancy so far, however, I am starting to swell. My feet have been swelling for a little awhile, especially when I get home from work but I can no longer wear my wedding rings. I also have this carpal tunnel thing going on where my hands (mostly my right) just completely fall asleep and tingle. And of course this usually happens at night while trying to sleep! This morning my right hand was so far asleep and it would not "wake up" so I just got up for the day, took my shower (with a half numb hand) and it is back to normal. I have some Carpal Tunnel hand braces from a co-worker but the one to wear at night just makes my hand hurt and I end up taking it off mid way through the night. Go figure.
I feel like I could be developing a slight cold/sore throat so I am drinking more water than usual and sucking down the OJ. The Neti Pot of course is helping keep away any head congestion. For those of you who have never been introduced to the Neti Pot, call Jake and he will give you all the reasons why you should try it out! Once you get the hang of it, I admit, its pretty nice to have your sinuses cleaned out with a little water and salt!
For those of you who have not heard, Tank does have an official name but until the little guy decides to make his grand entrance, it is still under wraps. Tank's room is I guess officially done, but there is still a little more organizing that needs to take place and another load of his new clothes need to be washed in Dreft. Jake and I painted the letters for his name to hang on the wall. Depending on how long Tank stays in the warm womb we may or may not hang them and just have to keep all visitors out of his room if we do.
This weekend my friend Jessica will be in town from the great state of George W, also known as Texas. She and Bry-Guy are bringing their 4 month old Cooper to meet all his Indiana friends! I just don't think Tank will be here though for the introduction!
My cousin Will turns 20 on Saturday. He is the B-A-B-Y in my extended family on my mom's side and I cannot believe 20 years has gone by and I can still remember the day he was born! I was so excited to get a new cousin to hold and babysit!
On Sunday we have Caden's 1st Birthday party! (B-day is the 28th) Again....can't believe he is 1 already! The last year has flown by that is for sure. Caden took his first steps before Christmas but we think due to getting the flu and being run down he didn't want to keep walking. That changed last week and he is putting multiple steps together and wanting to walk and he is going to be a handful for Ashley!
Jake reminded me last night that I had not posted a belly pic yet like I said I would, so I will do that this week yet and if I don't remember, its Jakes fault!
I have added some new friends to my blog lists! The Gaffaney Family in Tampa, the Yates here in Indy and the Deno's in Lafayette.

37 Weeks
Not much new to report. Still effaced and still no dilation. Dr. Thomas did say though that my cervix is very soft, which is very good for when I do start to dilate, etc. He has lightened and his head is farther down than last week, so I guess as with any pregnancy it is wait and see, and we will go day by day! She also said he was "average" size, but said that people like me (as in taller people) sometimes tend to "hide" their true baby size. Essentially because I have a long torso that he is packed in there and even though I am measuring exactly where I need to be, that doesn't mean he isn't bigger than average. She doesn't think though he will be a 9 pounder. Whew.
She also didn't "think" that I would probably go all the way to February 5th, or at least not beyond that, but she didn't want to say anything that I might want to hold her to later!
That is what I love about Dr Thomas, she doesn't say things to give you false hope or get excited, she just tells you like it is. Oh, his heartbeat was 148 by Dr T and 152 by Daddy Jake. Which going by old wives tales.....usually a higher heartbeat means a girl, so I sure hope he is a boy, otherwise she is going to have a blue and brown room, and boys clothing! I am sure the Ultra Sound tech was correct though and like she said, she knows her boy parts pretty well.
I will try to post a belly pic tonight or tomorrow at home!

Showers!
Thanks Christie and Mrs. Waggs for a fun shower!
Caden playing nice with a possible future girlfriend-Laila!
Thank you to April and Ashley for throwing a shower for all my Pi Phi's and other friends!
Oops! Should have turned this one around. This was a baby game with Candy Bars. There were 36 different phrases/sentences about birth, baby, hospitals, etc. and each candy bar represented that phrase. Ex: The Cost of your hospital stay.......100 Grand!
The Cake. So yummy!!!
Jake and I cannot thank our friends and family enough for such a great weekend of showers and fun! We got some awesome baby gear and I think we are pretty much set now. Tank just has to decide when he wants to leave his warm home and come out and brave the cold! Since it is supposed to snow most of the week and be in the teens I doubt it will be this week, but who knows?! We go to the Doctor tomorrow for week 37 check-up.

Caden
Pics of CW
He loves playing with his toys and splashing around.
Caden at Christmas. He enjoys having his picture taken but he really likes to see and feel the camera so if you get on his level, he comes after you with a goal of getting that camera! He is definitely a good mix of Claxton and Poelstra, but there are many times when I see either or both of my brothers in him.

36 weeks
Only 4 more weeks to go! Give or take a day or two or a week, I am sure!
Not much changed at this weeks appointment. Passed the strep test, so that was good to know. I am about 75% effaced but 0 dilation. I have been having some back spasms/pain/BR Hicks, whatever they may be in my lower back. Last night they lasted, uh, all night and they were not comfortable. I am averaging 3 bathroom breaks from 10pm-6am.
My office had a shower for me yesterday at work and they gave us a diaper genie, our high chair and $100 to Target. It was very generous of all my Neace Lukens co-workers! Thank you!
Tomorrow I have my friends shower hosted by April and Ashley at April's house. I know that Beth and Emily are making the trip from Detroit and Chicago, respectively. I am excited though to see some of my friends who I feel like I have not seen in weeks! (or months)
Sunday Jake's friends are having a shower for us and all his guy friends (girlfriends and others too)! I think at this one Jake gets to open all the presents AND write the Thank you notes, what do you all think? :)
Okay well thanks for checking in on me. I am going to post some pics of the cutest soon to be 1 year old Nephew in the world!
