Thirty Something

This weekend we helped Natalie celebrate her 30th Birthday! Technically she is still 29 until August but her family had a series of important birthdays this year, her Dad 60, Aunt 50 and cousin 40, so they had a 10's Party to celebrate. We had a really good time and went out to the Purdue bars that evening. Some of Natalie's family wanted to dance so we went to What Up (Where Else), I am pretty sure I have not been in that bar since I graduated! Needless to say yesterday I was definitely suffering from my fun the night before. It has really been since my sister's wedding last May that I have stayed out and had fun for that long! :) As Ali told Miss Kaylyn we drank a lot of "water" that night.

(jeez somene is pasty white and needs to get out in the sun-me!)

Karsyn really wanted to hold Xavier, I think he is already at least half her size!

Kaylyn was definitely going to hold Xavier! She experienced Xavier's tight grip and was rewarded with a fistful of hair pulled from her head! We can't wait for a few more years until Kaylyn can babysit!!!

And here is Miss Kennedy attempting to jump off the diving board that afternoon. She gave it 2 solid 10 minute efforts but in the end just couldn't jump! She also took a tumble off the board and hit the pavement (ouch!) but all she suffered was scrapes and cuts, thankfully nothing serious!

Friday night we saw Tim and Patsy and the boys and Xavier stayed up until 11pm! Mom was the cranky one on Saturday morning when he woke up before 6 but he went back to bed until 9. On Saturday we went to Grandi's house and the pool, then the party. He stayed up until 11 again with Grandi and Great Aunt Maggi.
He is eating his cereal every night and it is getting better. Not perfect, but better! Yesterday he was on his back and he appeared to be trying to roll over to his tummy but just couldn't quite make it past his side. When he wakes from naps and bed he is up on his forearms holding up his head! I love the mornings with him, he is so happy then! (usually) He is still eating about every 3 hours during the day so I have to time my outings up with eating and sleeping!

Gigi and Opa get home from Alaska tomorrow and will be amazed at how much Xavier has changed in 2 weeks!

Here are Ashley and Chloe at 25 weeks. I think she looks pretty similar to her and Caden at 27 weeks (in my opinion) I think she is carrying them both pretty much the same too! She might a tenny tiny tad bigger with Chloe but not much! She is doing well and ready for her little Angel to be here, well almost ready once she has her room in order!

My little Lovebug is waking up from his nap, gotta go!!

4 months!

Here is Xavier experiencing his first bowl of Rice cereal! I think there was more on his face, neck, and bib than made it down his throat! It was a solid effort though. He liked sitting in his high chair so that too was great!

Here he is sitting up, or holding himself up! He lasted for about 15-20 seconds here before he toppled over!

I believe this one was after he toppled over and daddy put him on his tummy!

Xavier weighed in at 15 pounds 15 ounces at Dr Jim's yesterday. He is also 26.5 inches long. So he is moving right along and Dr Jim is very happy with his progress! He had 2 shots yesterday and while no mother enjoys these trips to the Dr. it is always interesting to see the delayed reaction to the shot. Nurse Betsy gives X the shot and it takes a second before he realizes what just happened! He only cried for probably 30-40 seconds and then went to sleep in his car-seat on the way home!
Last evening Xavier decided to wake me up at 2 am! I heard him coo-ing and looked on the baby monitor and there he was on his BACK just kicking and playing! Since I put him to sleep on his Tummy like every other night, he rolled over all on his own and either he woke up during the roll or he woke up and thought what the heck am I doing laying this way. He then went back to sleep after a little snack until 6:30 and after that snack/breakfast he slept until 10:15!!! I guess they sleep during growth spurts which is maybe what he is going through?!?
TGIF-have a great weekend!

Pool Time!

Okay so we went to the pool.....but Xavier didn't really enjoy it! The baby pool which is only a foot deep was FREEZING! Even Jake and I had a hard time putting our feet in so we knew our little guy was not going to enjoy his whole body in the cold water! Bath time on Sunday was great so luckily there was not a traumatic result from the pool experience! We might try again this weekend in Lafayette at the Country club...we'll see.
After pool time it was nap time! Xavier and Daddy took naps on the couch, good thing it is an L and they can both be comfortable!

Sunday we went down to my sister's for dinner. Gigi is on vacation this week so Xavier and Caden did not get to hang out as usual this Tuesday, so I thought a Sunday afternoon together would be good! Look how big Caden is getting!! That will be X a year from now! It is so fun to see Caden love on Xavier, I can't wait to see them in action the next 18 years! My sister and I are going to have our hands full, especially with both our husbands teaching them "boy" things!

And here we are with our boys!

Xavier is 4 months tomorrow! We go to the doctor for a check up also. I have a feeling that my little love-bug is in the mid 16 pound range. Not sure if he has grown at all, probably since he is outgrowing all his 3-6 month sleepers, but that could be because they shrink a little in the dryer too! I just washed up some 6-9 month stuff so his little piggie's are not so scrunched in his sleepers anymore!
X is still sleeping about 8 hours at night, except for last night. He decided he needed a little snack at about 4:15. Normally that is no problem, but I didn't really get back to sleep after that before my alarm went off at 6. Good thing for Einstein's coffee in the morning :)
X is playing with Grandi all day today, I am sure it will be an exciting day for them both!

Almost Sitting

He is being supported with help from Dad in this pic, but Jake lets go and he will sit for about 5-10 seconds before starting to tumble over. So sitting up is coming along and it won't be long now!

Along with loving Bath-time, Xavier loves being Nakey Baby!

Part of the reason he is Nakey Baby lately is that I have been "conserving" the AC and trying to go a little green! :) Since we don't want X over-heating, I just take off his clothes! Really the weather has just been nice enough to have doors and windows open so need for the AC, but X enjoys just hanging out in his diaper.

Xavier in his Carmel colors. We went to watch Conrad play in the Sectional baseball game (Conrad is Marty's son. Marty is Jake's partner at Merrill/Bank of Am). Xavier was good luck for the team at all the prior games this year but apparently that ran out as Carmel got smacked by Westfield.
Yes. His hair looks Red in a lot of pictures, but in person it still looks brown, or as I like to call it Brond. Blond roots and Brown tips.

Other than working on sitting up, not much else is new these days. We go to the Doctor for his 4 month check-up next Thursday. He gets to start eating a couple teaspoons of rice cereal next week so we will see how likes that. So far he has not cared where or who gives him his food, so long as he gets fed! He weighed 15.4 last week when I weighed him at my Breastfeeding group. He has slept from 9:30 until 6am the last 2 nights, I even had to wake him up this morning so I could feed him before I had to leave for work!
Xavier enjoys looking at the ceiling fan when he is just hanging out on the couch. Yesterday, Gigi had him on my sister's guest bed and he was just staring at the fan. Caden got up on the bed and laid down right next to him and held his hand! My mom said it was the cutest thing! Her camera was downstairs though :(
I can't believe 4 months ago I was hanging out waiting for my baby to arrive and now I get to wake up every day and see his precious smiling face! Mornings are definitely his best time and truly moments to treasure. After his morning feeding and back to sleep for a short nap, he wakes up happy and stretches and pushes his little bum out and is just all smiles!!
Thanks Daddy for working hard for us so I can enjoy all these moments with our little man!

End of May!

I can't believe Memorial Day has come and gone and it is almost June!
Here is my little man, looking all grown up at 3.5 months! He sits up pretty well with some assistance, so I am sure it will not be too much longer before he can do it on his own.
Opa making X laugh this past weekend on the porch. I love sitting on my parents screened in porch in the evenings sipping a nice glass of wine!
Xavier still loves his bath time but he loves laying on the diaper changer even more! He just lays there and kicks and kicks.......

Xavier and his cousin Graham.
They are 8 days apart and very similar in size and length. We went to visit cousin Bill/Stacey and Kate last week in Noblesville. Kate was home on leave for awhile.
Thanks Kate for serving our Country!

Not too much has been going on the last couple of weeks.
Xavier will roll over from tummy to back when he is propped up on his arms. He still does not actively suck or take a pacifier but will hold it in there when he gets sleepy! He enjoys the car these days and even falls asleep! We take more trips out in between his feedings and naps. He has been a dream at night, sleeping from around 9:30pm to 5:30am! I am still working 2 days a week so he gets to hang out with Gigi and play with Caden on Tuesdays. Little CW has been getting his Eye Teeth in so he has been a little clingy to my sister and in lots of pain! Ashley has finally popped and you can tell she is preggers! I am going to take a 24 week picture this weekend so I will post that of her cute little belly when I can!

3 months!

I can't believe Xavier is 3 months old already! He has changed so much the last couple weeks! I celebrated my first Mother's Day and it was wonderful! We spent time with my mom and grandmother and Jake's mom. Happy First Mother's Day to all my new mother friends and Happy Mothers Day to all the other awesome moms I know! (Okay belated Happy Belated Mothers Day-I am 4 days late!)

Gigi, Opa and the boys

Grandi and Xavier

X and CW on their new adirondack chairs. Jake got X to laugh but CW is just biding his time because he wanted to sit in the chair X was in! He actually did sit on his lap at one point!

So I am officially back to work 2 days a week. It was nice to be back in the work flow and I only cried a little bit on Tuesday right after I left X with my mom and then at work when Darius Rucker's "It won't be like this for long" song came on. I am very blessed that my mom is watching him for May and then Grandi and my Mom are sharing duties the rest of the summer. We will see how everything is going after my 90 day trial period is up!
I took Xavier to his 3 month appointment today and Dr Jim said Xavier looked like he could be a 6 month old! My little piggy weighed in at 14 pounds 12 ounces and 26 inches long. So he has grown 1/2 inch and I think gained 19 ounces in just over 3 weeks!!! He doesn't miss a meal let's put it that way! He is smiling, laughing, cooing and very energetic everyday! He loves getting his diaper changed and he just kicks and kicks his chubby little legs! When I put him on the blanket for tummy time he starts to roll to the side. He is sitting in his bumbo chair much better, not completely upright, but close!
Speaking of meals.....I hear my lovebug making his hungry squawk, more later!

Weekend Fun!

It is really amazing most people tell me how much Xavier looks like me and nothing like his dad.
Yeah right! Look at that cute little mini-me of Jake!
He's our thoroughbred and he definitely did not pick Mine that Bird to win the Derby yesterday!

I love my new Mom camera!! It takes such great pictures.
I try to snap a couple pics at least every other day!
Here is the beautiful bride to be Jen

The new Mr and Mrs Trey McFarland!
So cute! The wedding was awesome, short and sweet ceremony followed by a very fun reception at the Mavris downtown. The Mavris is an old restored warehouse by the train tracks. It was so cool!
Congratulations Trey and Jen, hope you have fun in Cabo!

So I have not totally avoided public places but I admit I did go out and buy up all kinds of hand sanitizer and clorox wipes. A school in our area/neighborhood is closed this week due to a possible case of H1N1. The other case in the city is near my sister's house. What are the odds we each have a nearby school with cases! Only us!
I have also made a new Knott house rule of removing shoes at the door and washing hands! I started to think about what all our dirty shoes do in a day, each and every day, and then thought about when Xavier starts to crawl and just the thought of duck poo, gum, gasoline, spit and who knows what else on the bottom of our shoes transfering to the carpet or floors in my house did not sit well with me! And the hand washing, well that should be pretty self explanatory with an almost 3 month old!
Almost 3 months! Where has the time gone?
Xavier pretty much has full head control. His dad practices sitting up every day! He loves his baby Einstein play mat and just stares at the blinking star and has started to grab all the things dangling from above. Today he slept in his swing for 2 hours! He is starting to sleep in his crib more and more and has made it in there a couple nights! He has also been sleeping anywhere from 10-11pm to 4:30-6am for almost the last 2 weeks!
Thanks to both grandparents and aunts for watching Xavier this weekend while Jake and I went to Tren's wedding, we had a great time!
